TROUBLESHOOTING
-
NarrowTrax is flaking and not peeling
Coat has been applied too thin. Apply more NarrowTrax over the existing coat, allow to dry and peel away cleanly.
-
I can't get an edge to lift up to start removal
Likely the edge of the coat is too thin. We recommend a thick border edge for ease of lifting and peeling.
Paint a thick coat over the thin edges, allow to dry and the coat will lift simply. -
NarrowTrax is stretching and not peeling
If NarrowTrax is stretchy or tearing, it's likely due to high temperature- either direct sunlight (particularly dark coloured vehicles) or under bonnet heat.
Drive the car to a shady spot to cool off and if required use cold water to assist. Then simply then peel away. -
NarrowTrax is brittle when peeling
If NarrowTrax is brittle, it generally means it's too cold. It will still peel in this format, but can be eased by increasing the ambient temperature.
-
Freshly applied NarrowTrax is not peeling
Although Protection Ready in approx 1 hour; NarrowTrax requires sufficient curing time to form its strength for simple removal.
If your coat is new, leave it on for at a minimum 8 hours and then peel it off.
If you're still struggling, the applied coat was not thick enough- reapply, wait 24 hours and it will peel cleanly. -
NarrowTrax is drying too slowly
Combination of low ventilation and low ambient temperature.
Typically, improved air circulation will increase the speed of curing, over increasing the ambient temperature.
Drive around the block and you'll see improvement in the curing time. -
NarrowTrax won't come off some surfaces
Always refer to our Compatibility Guide and check an inconspicuous area prior to installation.
There are a number of surfaces (generally porous finishes) which grab onto the NarrowTrax.
Protect these finishes with PE tape (available in our store) as a barrier to avoid binding with incompatible surfaces. -
There's residual NarrowTrax after peeling
This can happen if there's sections where the coat is too thin (particularly on edges), or small drips from your install.
These can be removed by hand, or pressure washed off.
We recommend washing vehicle after removal of NarrowTrax. -
NarrowTrax has gone milky after curing
NarrowTrax is responding to the climatic conditions (either high humidity, rain or water inundation). NarrowTrax will dry clear again once the humidity drops.
Clean up any drips that form during the drying phase to avoid incompatible materials binding to the NarrowTrax (ie uncoated grey plastic guards).
Inspect the NarrowTrax coat and simply touch up any thin or lifting areas. -
NarrowTrax has a yellow tinge when cured
You'll only notice this on white vehicles.
We have a white vehicle formulation available for sale which mitigates this- check our shop!
